A deadly shooting in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood has left a 26-year-old man, known in some circles as “Drag4x,” dead, raising questions about a possible connection to a violent criminal past. The incident occurred on August 26, 2025, at around 1:00 a.m. along the 200 block of West Rittenhouse Street, near the 5800 block of Marion Street.
Police found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by 1:18 a.m. Officers recovered over 35 shell casings from semi-automatic weapons, suggesting a barrage of gunfire at close range. A handgun lay next to the victim, though it’s unclear if he fired it. Four cell phones and a large amount of cash were found scattered under a nearby parked vehicle, hinting at a possible robbery or deal gone wrong.
Witnesses reported seeing a man fleeing north on Marion Street, and surveillance cameras in the area captured footage that police are now analyzing. No arrests have been made, and the motive remains under investigation. Social media posts on platforms like X have identified the victim as “Drag4x,” a figure allegedly known for robbing people and rumored to have a $60,000 bounty on his head. These posts also claim he survived multiple attempts on his life and was a suspect in a $700,000 armored truck robbery.
However, police have not confirmed the victim’s identity as Drag4x or his involvement in any such robbery. A separate armored truck heist in Philadelphia on June 21, 2025, involved over $2 million stolen, with three suspects already charged, none of whom match the victim’s description.
The shooting adds to ongoing concerns about gun violence in Philadelphia, despite a reported 12% drop in homicides in 2025. The Germantown, Philadelphia, shooting has sparked debate and concern among residents.
