HYPEFRESH: Let’s start by introducing ourselves. You know the basics, like name, age, and where you’re from, as much or little as you’re comfortable sharing.

Lia J: I’m Lia J, 22, from Germany, and I am going through life without a plan.

My music is for daydreamers who live in the moment, are caught up in the moment, and sometimes don’t know what’s happening. Lately, I’ve been focusing on toxic love, identity struggles, and issues you typically face in your twenties.

HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, “Trash”?

Lia J: The single Trash is the most emotional song on my EP for me. It is based on a very rough breakup: My ex broke up with me and told me he had cancer and was going to die – but he lied. I’ve never felt so much disrespect, rejection, and hurt at once, so I turned my anger into a song for people who’ve been disappointed and played with.

HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?

Lia J: Music is a powerful tool to accompany any real-life situation. You can fall in love, cry, dance through your room, or have even made love to certain songs, and that’s truly something special. 3. Messages like “I can’t stop listening to your song!” or “your music helped me get over xxx,” as well as making people connect.
