Eminem, the renowned rapper and producer, spoke about the possibility of a joint album with his longtime friend and collaborator, 50 Cent, in a recent pre-game show on Shade45.
The rumor of a collaboration album between the two rap icons started when DJ WhooKid, one of the hosts, mentioned that he heard about it from an unnamed source. Eminem was caught off guard by this revelation and said he had no idea where it came from.
“Where did that come from? I don’t know whose idea that was, but that’s crazy,” Eminem said. “I’m trying to get [50 Cent] to make another album so bad. We need another Fifty album naughty, bro. He’s on a roll right now. He’s been on a roll since the tour. I told him whatever he needed from me — I was there. That would be crazy, though, an album with me and him.”
Eminem and 50 Cent have a long and successful history of working together, dating back to the early 2000s, when Eminem signed 50 Cent to his label, Shady Records, and helped him launch his career with the classic album ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’. Since then, the two have collaborated on numerous songs, such as “Patiently Waiting,” “Crack a Bottle,” and “You Don’t Know,” and have supported each other through their ups and downs in the music industry and beyond.
Eminem expressed his admiration and respect for 50 Cent, not only as a rapper but also as a friend and a businessman. He said that he always had a love for 50 Cent and that he would help him in any way he could. He also praised 50 Cent for being on a roll since the tour, referring to the Rapture Tour in 2019, where they performed together in Australia and New Zealand.
Eminem also acknowledged 50 Cent’s impact on hip hop and his role in the genre’s success. He said that 50 Cent’s influence is unmeasurable and that he is one of the greatest rappers of all time.
“He’s one of the reasons hip hop is where it is today,” Eminem said. “He played a big part in that. He’s one of the GOATs, man. He’s one of the best to do it.”
While Eminem did not confirm or deny the rumor of a joint album with 50 Cent, he did not rule out the possibility either. He said it would be crazy and that he was open to working with 50 Cent in the future.
“Who knows, man? We’ll do something. Maybe we won’t. But I’m always down to work with him. He’s my brother, man. He’s family,” Eminem said.
Eminem and 50 Cent fans eagerly await more news and updates on the potential collaboration album, a historic event in hip-hop history.
