Drake is Dropping a New Track “Search and Rescue” at Midnight

Drake isn’t holding back when it comes to social media, and his latest teaser for a new track isn’t any exception. In “Search and Rescue,” his latest track, the OVO rapper smoothly blends in a clip from the 2021 Keeping Up With the Kardashians finale. The sampled soundbite features Kim Kardashian engaged in conversation with her mother, Kris Jenner.

The cover art for the new song has sent fans into a frenzy, depicting Drake donning a motorcycle helmet alongside a woman bearing a striking resemblance to Kardashian. The image was shared Thursday, with people pointing out that it was eerily similar to a photo of Kim at a go-cart facility in Japan earlier this week.

More life for the Toronto rapper

On Instagram, Drizzy posted the cover art and said the song would drop at midnight on Friday, May 25. The track features audio from a clip of Kim speaking to her mom about her divorce with Kanye West.

The new song has a few tense moments, including a sample of Kim’s voice saying, “I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy.”

But the song is also about finding love, and Drake uses his experience as a songwriter to describe what he’s looking for in an ideal partner. He raps about ambition, patience, honesty and trust.

It appears to be a laidback track with a piano-laced feel, but it definitely packs some heat. The song is produced by BNYX, Coi Leray and Yeat, along with Sadpony, who crafted the hit single “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” for Drake and 21 Savage last year.

This marks the first solo track from Drake since his last studio album Honestly, Nevermind in 2022 and it could be a sign that he’s ready to drop another project soon. He’s currently preparing for the North American leg of his “It’s All a Blur Tour” with 21 Savage, which begins June 16 in New Orleans and runs through September.

Will Drake’s new song flop?

There are several speculations about the song’s context, but it seems most likely that Drake is taking a shot at Kanye West. After all, Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian has been a frequent target of Drake’s attacks in the past.

After a lengthy beef, it seemed that the two finally put it to rest in November 2021. Despite that, West has still not publicly addressed the dispute since then.

In the meantime, fans have been speculating whether or not the sample of Kardashian was actually used without her permission. According to TMZ, a representative for Kardashian told the news outlet that she does not own the rights to any of the music on Drake’s latest track.

Regardless, many fans on Twitter are quick to call out the Toronto rapper for using her in a song. But Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, is firmly standing by his son’s statement that “Drake is not trolling anyone, it’s just a song.”

Even though some of the comments on TMZ’s post are rife with negativity, others are supportive of the new song. After all, it’s a great song and it’s something that people have been waiting for from Drizzy. Hopefully, it will help to ease the tension between these two rivals.
