Drake is going back Down Under! The global superstar has finally announced The Anita Max Win Tour, which will take him across Australia and New Zealand early in 2025. Of course, fans wasted no time sharing their excitement online as many are planning trips to catch one of the year’s most anticipated live music events.
Tickets produced by Live Nation will go on sale soon. For those super excited, pre-sales start this Tuesday, December 3. The general sale follows this Friday, December 6, at 12 p.m. local time. Tickets can be purchased via drakerelated.com and livenation.com, so there are several opportunities for fans to get theirs.
The six-date tour begins in Melbourne on February 9 and 10 at Rod Laver Arena, followed by two nights in Sydney at Qudos Bank Arena on February 16 and 17. Brisbane fans see the rapper on February 24 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, ahead of the tour’s final shows in Auckland on February 28 and March 1 at Spark Arena.
The offbeat name of the tour itself, Anita Max Win, has become a talking point. It’s a nod to a playful alter ego Drake created during a December 2023 live stream on Kick, where he humorously referenced the gambling phrase “I need a max win.” The character went viral quickly, sparking a sea of memes and fan content that sealed its place in pop culture.
This marks Drake’s first return to Australia and New Zealand since his Boy Meets World Tour in 2017; understandably, fans are buzzing. The artist had just finished his highly popular It’s All A Blur Tour in 2023 and 2024, which saw some of the tour’s standout moments feature him performing with 21 Savage and J. Cole. Since his visit was announced, the hype has already spread on social media, showing a lot of strategies regarding buying tickets and hoping for seat scores.
Adding to the thrill is its timing: this tour falls concurrently with Kendrick Lamar’s highly anticipated Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 9. While Lamar will be setting stages on fire worldwide, Drake will ignite his tour on the other side of Melbourne, and this month truly will be huge for worldwide hip-hop heads.
