Diddy Released from Solitary Confinement After FCI Fort Dix Altercation

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been released from solitary confinement at FCI Fort Dix and returned to the general population, according to a report.

Sources told TMZ that the Bad Boy founder is no longer in the Special Housing Unit at the low-security New Jersey facility, where he has been serving a 50-month sentence. The move comes several weeks after he was placed in isolation following an altercation with another inmate in July.

Details of the incident remain limited. According to the report, another prisoner allegedly made a remark toward Combs that sparked a physical confrontation involving shoving and punches. Correctional officers intervened and separated the two men. Combs was then moved into disciplinary segregation. Sources previously said he “held his own” during the brief scuffle.

A representative for the Federal Bureau of Prisons has declined to comment on the matter, citing the agency’s standard policy against discussing individual inmates’ housing, disciplinary actions, or investigations for privacy and security reasons.

Combs, 56, was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a high-profile federal trial in New York. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. In October 2025, he was sentenced to 50 months in prison and transferred to Fort Dix, a facility that offers the Residential Drug Abuse Program and is relatively close to his family.

His projected release date has shifted multiple times since he began serving his sentence. The Bureau of Prisons currently lists February 20, 2028. Earlier updates had moved the date forward from an original June 2028 projection, including a brief listing of January 24, 2028, before it was adjusted again earlier this month.

It remains unclear whether the July incident will result in any additional disciplinary measures or affect his remaining time. Combs’ legal team continues to appeal the conviction and sentence.

Prior to the altercation, Combs had been participating in the prison’s drug treatment program and working as a chaplain’s assistant. Those efforts had been cited as factors in previous adjustments to his projected release date.
