Curtis Young Makes Acting Debut
Curtis Young is set to appear in the upcoming film Charge It To The Game and will also create new, original music for the movie. This starring role will serve as Young’s first big screen feature.
During a chat with TMZ, Young commented on his accomplishment.
“This is my first movie and I wanted to get into acting… I always loved the art,” Young told TMZ. “It’s just an art form I’ve always loved. I’m playing a role, Kong, which is a gentleman named Hardtime — it’s Julian Broadus, which is Snoop’s son — I’m playing his older brother. So, I’ve been reading the script, just preparing, getting motivated, behind it and getting engaged with it.”
“I was asked and I’m honored to compose the music for the film, and I think they announced it just yesterday.” “Swizz Beatz’s son is gonna be scoring it with me, so I’m just honored to have this opportunity.”
Curtis Young actually auditioned for N.W.A’s 2015 Straight Outta Compton biopic. Despite his quest to become an actor then, he was not casted for the role of Dr. Dre in the film.
Young Comments On Dr. Dre’s Recovery
Following his dad’s alarming health scare, Young explained to TMZ what recovery looks like.
My pops is healing,” Young said. “He values my efforts and recognizes my independence. It’s been a long time since I had a chance like this to break free from that influence, yet still pay homage and acknowledge those who paved the way.”
Kudos to Curtis Young for securing his first acting role!
