Like so many legendary comedians before him, he left his mark on his colleagues and fans alike. Though, as more details surrounding Ray’s death continue to pour in the news gets worse. Now, sources reveal that Teddy Ray was found dead inside of a swimming pool.
What Led To The Beloved Comedian’s Untimely Passing?
Comedian Teddy Ray led an interesting life. One full of laughs at that. His untimely passing has led many to question, why and what led to his death so soon? Furthermore, news outlets released details surrounding the comedian’s untimely death. On Friday August 12, the Riverside County Sheriff Department officially reported Ray’s death to E! News. Sheriff Sgt. Brandi Swan noted that police responded to a 911 call at a private residence in Rancho Mirage, California.
When police arrived on scene, Ray was found dead inside a swimming pool. While no one knows the cause of death, other sources have come forth to provide further insight into Ray’s death. In further speaking with E! News, Sergeant Edward Soto of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Media Information Bureau revealed that officials responded to an emergency call at Ray’s residence for a potential drowning case.
Additionally, Soto relayed that a maintenance worker reported seeing a male victim floating around in the pool. Moreover, both Soto and Swan reported seeing “no signs of foul play” at the scene of the crime. However, the mysterious nature of Teddy Ray’s death has led officials to continue investigating for further details.

The news of the 32-year-old’s death has been a hard pill for many people to swallow. Furthermore, the actor and comedian was known for his work on All Def Digital, MTV’s Wild ‘N Out, The Cali Kickback with Lewis Ray podcast and appeared on the HBO Max series PAUSE with Sam Jay. Moreover, the tributes on social media keep pouring in by the minute.
Although, Comedy Central said it best when they commemorated Teddy Ray’s work. “Teddy Ray was a funny and well-loved comedian. The entire comedy community will miss him greatly,” stated the TV network on Friday.
