Kristin Cabot is continuing to unpack the fallout from last summer’s viral “kiss cam” moment — and she’s now revealing where she stands with former boss Andy Byron months after the incident.
In a new appearance on The Oprah Podcast released March 17, the former Astronomer HR executive shared that she has completely cut off communication with Byron, describing their split as rooted in broken trust.
“There was a big miss on honesty and integrity,” Cabot told host Oprah Winfrey, adding that Byron ultimately “wasn’t the person he represented himself to be.”
The comments mark her most direct criticism yet of Byron following the now-infamous July 2025 Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium, where the pair were caught embracing on the venue’s jumbotron. As they quickly ducked out of frame, frontman Chris Martin joked from the stage about a possible “affair,” helping propel the clip into one of the year’s most viral moments.
Cabot said she ended communication with Byron in the fall of 2025, after months of sporadic check-ins following the incident. Those conversations, she suggested, were largely centered around navigating the intense public scrutiny that followed.
At one point, she said, their exchanges resembled “crisis management” discussions — a reflection of how quickly their personal lives became global headlines. By September, however, the two agreed that staying in contact was making it harder to move forward.
“There’s no relationship now,” Cabot said, noting that Byron’s silence throughout the controversy also shaped her view of him. She described feeling “left holding the bag” as backlash intensified.
Cabot reiterated that while both she and Byron were legally married at the time of the concert, she was already separated and in the process of divorcing her husband — a filing that came weeks later in August 2025. She said she believed “unequivocally” that Byron was in a similar situation.
However, she stopped short of detailing exactly what she later learned, choosing instead to speak broadly about misrepresentation.
“A lot of what was represented to me was not true,” she said, while declining to elaborate further out of respect for those involved.
She has consistently maintained that the concert marked the first time anything physical happened between them — describing it as a one-time kiss rather than an ongoing relationship.
The brief on-screen moment had immediate real-world consequences. Within days, Byron stepped down as CEO of Astronomer, and Cabot exited her role soon after. What followed, she says, was months of intense public backlash.
In previous interviews, including with The New York Times, Cabot detailed being overwhelmed by harassment, including hundreds of daily calls and dozens of threats.
Speaking with Winfrey, she again emphasized the scale of the response — and how differently she believes it played out for her compared to Byron.
“Every single part of my physical appearance was picked apart,” she said, adding that while Byron has largely remained out of the spotlight, she has felt pressure to repeatedly explain herself in order to rebuild her career.
Cabot did not shy away from acknowledging fault, calling her behavior that night a “mistake.” But she argued that the global reaction far exceeded the reality of what happened.
“I’ve paid an unimaginable price for that decision,” she said.
The experience, she added, has reshaped how she thinks about online culture — particularly how quickly individuals can be reduced to a single viral moment.
Now, Cabot says she is focused on reclaiming her narrative and encouraging more empathy in the digital age.
“I can’t stay silent and accept what has happened,” she said. “People need to understand the real story — and how harmful it can be when assumptions take over.”
As the clip continues to circulate online, Cabot’s latest comments add new context to a moment that blurred the lines between private life and public spectacle — and continues to spark debate months later.
