Sunday night football has seen some legendary “WTF” moments, and in Sunday’s game, where the Chicago Bears faced the Philadelphia Eagles, Cody Parkey had his.
Parkey had been having, what some might call, a tumultuous season. With missing multiple field kicks during the regular season, he’s also known to have a made a few too. But, Parkey is the #1 placekicker for the Chicago Bears, so it makes sense the team would call on him to dig them out of the hole…or in this case, kick them out.
As there were just seconds left on the clock, the Bears called on Parkey to propel them into a win. Unfortunately, Parkey didn’t deliver the way they hoped for. The kicker completely missed a 43-yard field goal, that could have saved the Bears’ season.

The Eagles took the win, 16-15. They now will have the chance to advance. The Eagles will play the New Orleans Saints, this upcoming Sunday.
As for Cody Parkey, he feels terrible.
“I thought I hit a great ball and was trying to play the wind,” Parkey said in a post-game interview with ESPN.“There’s really no answer to it. I didn’t make it. I take that loss on me. The sun is going to shine tomorrow, but unfortunately, this one is going to sting for a while.”
After the game, fans booed as Parkey ran off the field.
Good luck goes to the Philadelphia Eagles, as they inch closer to the Super Bowl.
