Orlando rapper Hotboii, whose real name is Javarri Walker, has been arrested again just four months after being released from a two-year sentence for RICO charges. As for why, nothing is confirmed, but rumor is circulating, with many speculating about whether he is in for probation for a repeat offender infraction or new legal troubles altogether.
Hotboii’s legal troubles seem a long way off. He recently finished a stint in prison for racketeering and conspiracy for suspected affiliation with a gang. Released in September 2024, he seems to have begun a new life. His first post-release single, “First Day Out,” gained momentum, with over 1.2 million views in no time.
Fans took hope in him reforming for the best, putting all his vigor into his tunes and sound judgments. Today’s arrest, however, will have many speculating about whatever transpired wrong.
Authorities have not disclosed actual charges, but some observers and followers speculate that Hotboii violated probation terms. Having an investigation background for gangs, a section of them believe that his whereabouts and companions possibly landed him under legal investigation again.
News of Hotboii’s arrest elicited a flurry of reaction. Many frustrated followers have expressed that the rapper squandered his second chance.
“I just heard about him, and then this?” a fan commented in disbelief
Others, however, are not surprised.”Hotboii getting locked up yet again isn’t a big surprise,” one fan wrote. “Dude must make smarter choices.” This arrest can significantly affect Hotboii’s momentum in rap life.
His label and management will most likely have to re-strategy. If these claims cause him to receive more prison time, his career will likely die when he regains momentum. The uncertainty surrounding his legal status will most likely make future co-conspirators nervous about working with him, too.
Hotboii’s legal issues began in July 2021 when he was arrested in a massive investigation entitled “Operation X-Force,” a statewide anti-gang bust in Florida. It concentrated in Orange County, Florida, and its accompanying gang-related brutality. He was charged with serious charges, including racketeering and conspiring to racketeer.
Two years later, in September 2024, Hotboii was released from prison. Under a plea agreement, he entered a guilty plea to a single count of conspiracy, and in exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop several more severe additional charges.
Prosecutors at one point accused him of using his social media and music platforms to glamorize life in gangs. As much as Hotboii continued to insist that his rap portrays life and does not necessarily glorify any activity, such an observation hasn’t been communicated to him in court.
Hotboii has yet to speak publicly regarding his arrest, and neither have his representatives, so no one knows what will become of the rap artist.
