Bobbi Althoff Cyberbullying | The Real Impact of Online Hate

Bobbi Althoff is opening up about the toll online negativity has taken on her.

On Nov. 23, 2025, the influencer and podcaster shared a four-minute TikTok video in which she became visibly emotional while addressing the hateful comments she says she receives whenever she posts content featuring her boyfriend, Ty Hawkins, whom she has been dating for about a year.

Earlier that day, Althoff posted a lighthearted clip of the couple attempting to recreate a Dancing with the Stars routine. The video quickly drew a wave of misogynistic remarks accusing her of being “ran through” and making insulting claims about her personal life.

In her tearful follow-up, Althoff said the comments have become overwhelmingly routine.

“Today I posted a video of me and my boyfriend… Every single time I post him, all the comments are about how I’m ran through… just mean, mean things,” she said. “As much as I wish these comments didn’t get to me, it’s like I’m human.”

She added that she believes much of the criticism comes from the predominantly male audience that follows her.

“They just have so many mean things to say,” she explained. “If you got this many negative things said about you every day, it would get to you too.”

Althoff shared that the negativity has caused her to pull back from social media.

“I’ve definitely stopped posting as much because all of my comments are just so mean,” she said. “People are so mean to me on the internet.”

The creator also addressed recurring accusations that she has intimate relationships with guests on her podcast, calling the claims hurtful and untrue.

“Literally, I do not,” she said. “But you won’t ever believe that.”

The mother of two said some of the harshest comments have been directed at her parenting — criticism she firmly rejects.

“Then I’m a horrible mother… and it’s like, I am such a good mother,” she said. “Anyone who knows me in real life knows I’m an amazing mother.”

She expressed concern that her daughters would eventually come across the comments themselves.

“One day my kids are going to be old enough to read these comments,” Althoff said.

Althoff also spoke about the scrutiny she faces for moving on after her divorce from ex-husband Cory, with whom she shares two daughters.

“People are so angry that I am not with my ex anymore, and he’s in a happy relationship. Why can’t I be in one too?” she asked.

She reflected on the early days of their relationship, sharing that she met Cory on Bumble when she was 21 and he was 30 years old. Ten months later, she became pregnant with their first child. The couple married and were together for four years before Cory filed for divorce in February 2024.

Althoff said the comments are tough on Sundays, when her daughters are with their father.

“I sit here, and I read comments… and I shouldn’t, but it’s so hurtful,” she said.

The creator acknowledged her gratitude for her career but noted that the online abuse has taken a significant toll on her mental health.

As she neared the end of her message, Althoff said she hopes that sharing her vulnerability might encourage some critics to reconsider their behavior.

“If you’re one of the people who hate me, maybe you’ll watch this and reconsider,” she said. “I wish people weren’t so mean.”

Althoff’s video has sparked broader discussion online about misogyny, influencer culture, and the psychological cost of living in the public eye. While she did not ask for sympathy, her message appears intended to challenge viewers—especially those contributing to the negativity—to reconsider the impact of their behavior.
