This shift in pace follows Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade revealing that she is pregnant; thus, making the legendary rapper a grandfather.
The very bitter rivalry between Benzino and Eminem defined early 2000s hip-hop. Coming to be when Benzino, then co-owner of The Source magazine, spoke out against Eminem’s rise into rap, followed by a stream of diss tracks afterward including Eminem’s vexing 2002 track “Nail In The Coffin,” in which he cracked, “Nobody wants to hear their grandfather rap.”
But during a recent Instagram Live, Benzino took time to congratulate both Eminem and Hailie. He genuinely wished Eminem’s family well, making sure to acknowledge the irony of it all with an even deeper reference to Eminem’s own diss line. Laughing, Benzino joked, “I guess now we all want to hear grandfathers rap, huh?“
Benzino was very forthcoming about their past feud, adding that now’s the time for him to bury the hatchet. “With everything going on in the world, we should be focusing on peace, positivity, and family,” he said, adding that yes, he would send a baby shower gift for Hailie. His comments were an olive branch from left field: earnest only if he was ready to move on from years of animosity.

Neither Eminem responded to Benzino’s attempt to reach him nor is he known for his loose lips on his personal sentiments. But the moment felt like a decisive turn in their relationship and may finally bring an end to one of hip-hop’s most infamous beefs.
