Myself (Album) is out for download and streaming on March 10. The project includes 10 tracks and a host of features including Layton Greene, 4ayem, Deeno, and Zu!

August Alsina’s latest release is a reflection of the independent hustler who doesn’t need anyone else to flourish. From calling out fake friends to hinting at world domination, the Def Jam Recordings artist shares a message of self-sufficiency that’s often overlooked in today’s culture.

He grew up in a life that was filled with drugs, violence, and family tensions. His father and stepfather battled crack addiction. When he was 16 years old, his older brother was murdered in one of New Orleans’ most dangerous neighborhoods.

It was this tragedy that motivated August to pursue a career in music. He quickly made a name for himself on YouTube performing homemade covers of Musiq Soulchild, Lyfe Jennings, and more.

Following the launch of his debut studio album “Testimony” in 2014, August witnessed a surge in both fan base and media recognition. Swiftly, he engaged in collaborations with renowned artists including Jeezy, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj,, and Lil Wayne.
