Former YouTuber Bryant Turhanemmerson Moreland, better known as EDP445, was arrested November 4, 2026, in the Henderson/Las Vegas area of Nevada. The arrest comes after Kern County, California, prosecutors filed four felony charges tied to an alleged April 2021 incident that became an internet meme known as the “cupcake” confrontation.
Moreland faces counts of attempted lewd acts involving a child under 14, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with sexual intent, and distributing or showing pornography to a minor. The charges stem from a civilian sting in Bakersfield, not any Nevada-based allegation. He is expected to face extradition to California.
On April 17, 2021, an adult decoy working with the group Predator Poachers posed online as a 13-year-old girl. Moreland allegedly exchanged explicit messages and traveled to the Pineridge Apartment Complex in east Bakersfield believing he was meeting the minor. Confronted on camera, he claimed he had only come for a cupcake. The video exploded online, ending his career as a Philadelphia Eagles rant YouTuber whose channels once drew millions of subscribers.
Kern County authorities reviewed the matter in 2021 and 2022 but did not file charges. Prosecutors cited significant challenges, including lack of cooperation from the civilian reporting parties and evidence-handling issues common to non-police operations.
The investigation regained momentum after the August 2026 release of Mike Clum’s documentary The Sick Mind of EDP445. In an on-camera interview with Chris Hansen, Moreland stated:
“Um I showed up to that location that day um trying to um obviously meet up with an underage girl. You know what I mean? And um I guess you can say um I don’t know. Um, trying to have sex.”
When pressed on whether he intended sex with a 13-year-old, he answered, “For the most part, yep.”
Prosecutors said those admissions, combined with prior material, met the evidentiary threshold that had been missing years earlier. Charges were filed November 2. Moreland was taken into custody two days later near a dialysis clinic, consistent with his public statements about stage-5 kidney failure.
