BigXthaPlug Buys 150 Acres of Land to Build Homes and Support His Entire Family

BigXthaPlug is taking the next step in providing for his family after revealing that he has purchased 150 acres of land in Texas with plans to build a compound that will house multiple relatives.

The Dallas rapper, whose real name is Xavier Landum, shared the news during an October 28 appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. He told Sharpe that he has already drawn up blueprints for the property, which will include separate homes for family members along with a central gathering space he described as a convention center, where both sides of the family can cook and spend time together.

BigXthaPlug, 28, currently lives in a multigenerational home with his mother, Courtney, his grandmother, Angela, his sisters, his children, and two security guards. He has said he covers the household expenses so that the women in his immediate family do not have to work. On the podcast, he referred to the present living arrangement as “the kingdom,” adding, “We treat each other like kings and queens. They treat me like the king of the palace and I treat them like the queens of the kingdom. That’s how it’s supposed to be.”

He framed the larger compound as both a personal priority and a practical one. Landum explained that fielding requests from various relatives for help with mortgages, rent, and utility bills had become an ongoing responsibility. Consolidating everyone onto one piece of land, he said, would reduce that burden. “I gotta do it ’cause it’s going to be less on me,” he told Sharpe. When asked about the possibility of livestock on the property, he kept the focus on the homes and shared gathering space.

The move is consistent with comments BigXthaPlug has made throughout his career. He has frequently pointed to family as a central motivation, and earlier reporting has described him living with multiple generations under one roof while supporting relatives who previously faced financial strain. His mother and grandmother have appeared in coverage of his personal life, and he has spoken about the role fatherhood has played in shaping his decisions since the birth of his son.

Musically, BigXthaPlug has built a steady profile as an independent artist through UnitedMasters. Songs such as “Texas” and “Mmhmm” helped establish him, and subsequent albums including Amar and Take Care expanded his reach. His most recent project, Better Over Time, recently topped charts. On the same Club Shay Shay episode, he discussed generating significant revenue from streams, live shows, and merchandise while remaining largely independent, which has given him greater control over his earnings.

BigXthaPlug was born in Dallas in 1998 and has spoken in previous interviews about a difficult upbringing that included early exposure to street life, time spent playing football, and periods of legal trouble before music became his primary focus. Those experiences have informed both his lyrics and his public comments about wanting to create stability for the people closest to him.

Clips from the interview circulated widely on social media in the days after the episode aired, and outlets including Complex reported on the comments. BigXthaPlug has not yet disclosed a specific location within Texas or a timeline for construction. The full conversation is available on Club Shay Shay’s YouTube channel.
