Lil Baby got emotional this week after teaming with content creator Zachery Dereniowski to deliver a major surprise to a woman who was just one day away from losing her home.
In a video that spread quickly across social media on Oct. 13 and 14, the woman is seen selling pieces from her art collection as she explains her situation. She was facing eviction the following day and could no longer cover her rent. She shared that her partner had left her after securing his green card, reportedly calling her “too old, dark, [and] ugly” and leaving her with debt. Some versions of the footage also note that she has a daughter who would have been impacted by the loss of housing.
Dereniowski, known online as MD Motivator for his series of high-profile giveaways, and Lil Baby arranged the intervention. After hearing her story, the Atlanta rapper appeared on camera and presented her with a brand-new car along with a full year of paid rent, giving her and her daughter immediate stability.
The recipient was visibly overwhelmed. Lil Baby himself became emotional during the moment, tearing up as the gifts were revealed — a rare public display of vulnerability from the usually reserved artist.
The clip quickly gained traction on platforms including X and WorldStar, with many viewers highlighting the authenticity of Baby’s reaction. The collaboration fits both men’s track records of community-focused giving. Dereniowski has built a large following through documented acts of support that often include vehicles and housing assistance. Lil Baby has long invested in Atlanta through The Jones Project, most recently hosting his annual Back to School Fest at West End Production Park, which provided free school supplies, uniforms, clothing, haircuts, food and gift cards to roughly 4,000 students.
The latest surprise adds another chapter to Baby’s ongoing efforts to support people in his hometown and beyond, this time with a deeply personal, on-camera moment that resonated far beyond the usual celebrity giveaway.
