50 Cent followed a pair of high-profile New York-area guest appearances on Friday night (Aug. 7) with a quieter, more personal gesture closer to home.
After performing with G-Unit members Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda during Fuerza Regida’s sold-out Citi Field finale, the rapper stopped at a Burger King in Queens and handed $5,000 in cash to the late-shift employees. The workers had extended their hours to serve fans leaving the stadium show.
Tony Yayo confirmed the details the following day, posting video of the moment and noting that such stops are not uncommon for the group. “We do this all the time, we just had camera around this one,” Yayo wrote. “Now yall know why everybody loves Fif.”
In the clip, 50 Cent approaches the drive-thru window late at night, dressed in a black hoodie and Yankees cap, and passes cash to a visibly surprised staff. Workers crowd the window as the money is distributed, with one employee reacting to the unexpected windfall on what happened to be a birthday.
The Citi Field set itself was part of a busy evening for 50 Cent. He and G-Unit delivered a short run of hits including “What Up Gangsta,” “P.I.M.P.” and “I Get Money” as part of Fuerza Regida’s first U.S. stadium tour closer. Later the same night, he made another surprise appearance at MetLife Stadium during Chris Brown and Usher’s Raymond & Brown Tour stop.
The Burger King visit echoes a similar 2020 moment when 50 Cent and entrepreneur Jay Mazini distributed more than $30,000 to workers at a Queens location during the pandemic. Both instances reflect a pattern of the longtime South Jamaica native returning to the neighborhood with direct, unannounced support for local workers.
The latest video circulated widely over the weekend, drawing a mix of appreciation for the gesture and the familiar commentary that accompanies any high-profile cash giveaway. For 50 Cent, it simply continued a night that began on stadium stages and ended with a practical thank-you to the people keeping the lights on after the music stopped.
