2-Year-Old Girl at Center of San Antonio AMBER Alert Found Dead

Searches through the night for the 2-year-old Aryana Trevino Martinez were concluded with a tragic outcome in the morning when the little girl who was at the focus of an AMBER Alert in Texas was found lifeless near a brushy and water-filled stream on the Northwest side of San Antonio.

It turns out that, according to Aryana’s family members, the girl disappeared from the house in the vicinity of 4700 block of Allegheny Drive around 8 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2026. The police of San Antonio received information about the disappearance of the girl from the relatives. Searches started immediately; other residents and helicopters joined the process.

An AMBER Alert was subsequently issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, noting conditions in which there were indications that the child was in grave danger. The search for the child proceeded throughout the night in the Dreamhill Estates and Glenoaks Park areas near Glenoaks Elementary School.

At about midnight, Aryana was found to be unresponsive in a wooded area near Belle Ellen Road, approximately 500 yards away from the last place she was seen. Resuscitation attempts were made before Aryana was rushed to hospital. According to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, Aryana was declared dead at 12:12 a.m. Monday.

Surveillance video shows Aryana walking alone in the alley a few minutes before she was found, according to investigators. Detectives have been canvassing the area to see if there might be other video showing what led up to her discovery and whether she was with anyone.

The case is ongoing and detectives with the San Antonio Police Department have not yet made any arrests. They have not indicated that a crime was committed, saying they have not yet determined the manner or cause of death. Crime scene investigators were at the scene when detectives continued their investigation, talking to witnesses and reviewing evidence. The family has been cooperating, according to police.

Neighbors who joined the search described the dense brush and uneven terrain as difficult to navigate in the dark. One resident, David Alcantar, told local reporters the news hit hard after he helped rally others outside.

“Everybody was already out looking,”

He said. Another neighbor expressed shock at how far a toddler could travel.

Accountability in reporting needs to be clearly defined. It has not yet been decided by any authority whether Aryana’s death is one of murder. The cause of her death has not been confirmed as drowning. There is also no verified proof of her being kidnapped. The allegations of her being supervised or abducted are mere speculation at this time.

The grief in the Northwest Side neighborhood has not yet abated. A tribute to Aryana has formed close to where she was found, and there is a vigil scheduled for Tuesday night. Any person having more videos or information on this matter should reach out to SAPD.
