Rapper iHeartMemphis’s Tesla Smashes Through Garage Door Amid Mental Episode

It all went down early yesterday morning, February 10, 2026, in Plantation, Florida. At about 3:45 a.m., SWAT teams were hooked up to rapper iHeartMemphis’s Tesla and ripped it right through his closed garage door on the 8600 block of Gatehouse Road. The car flipped on its side in a pile of broken things, and the police stormed inside. It was all happening live on his Instagram, with thousands of people watching like it was some kind of reality TV show.

Richard Maurice Colbert, 33, from Memphis, Tennessee, first gained fame back in 2015 with the hit single “Hit the Quan.” This song quickly rocketed to the top of the Billboard charts, and its dance moves caused a massive sensation across the nation. He currently has over 700,000 fans on Instagram under the handle @iheartmemphis, and he’s been riding this viral wave ever since, signing with the RECORDS label and racking up millions of views on his songs.

It all began the night before, on February 9, when the Plantation police arrived for a welfare check. His family and ex-girlfriend, the popular TikTok sensation CocoBliss, had been raising red flags about his bizarre posts on social media for days. Colbert barricaded himself in his rented home and began an Instagram Live stream that lasted almost 11 hours.

On the stream, he was saying stuff like “I am God,” pointing the camera at the sky and claiming the clouds were watching him. He went on about jets and spiders spying, and even mentioned “I’m not Kanye,” probably referring to Kanye West’s public issues. He’d beg for help one minute “Please save me” and then say he didn’t want to hurt anyone. At points, he was handling a gun, even pointing it at his dog, but thankfully nothing bad happened to the pup or anybody else.

The SWAT team brought out all the heavy equipment: drones, tear gas, flash-bangs, and even a BearCat armored vehicle. They attempted to negotiate with him for hours before deciding to use the Tesla as a battering ram to break into the garage. No shots were fired, which is a good thing.

Colbert came out with his hands up, as seen in the final moments of the live feed. He got arrested on charges of making written or electronic threats to kill stemming from an old warrant and resisting an officer without violence. No gun charges, though.

They took him straight to a hospital under Florida’s Baker Act for a mental health eval, since he seemed like a risk to himself or others. After that, he was booked into Broward County Main Jail, with a bond hearing scheduled for today, February 11. His dog got safely passed to family members.

The live stream hit peaks of about 20,000 viewers, and some spots apparently spiked to 73,000. Clips blew up on X, like this 1:45 video from @CollinRugg showing the Tesla getting dragged out. Outlets such as NBC 6 South Florida, Billboard, and WSVN pieced it together from police reports, family talks, and the footage itself.

It’s worth noting that rappers dealing with mental health stuff isn’t new think Kanye West’s episodes. Experts say the pressure from the industry, plus personal tragedies like Colbert losing his sister Danielle in 2021, can push people over the edge, according to Billboard’s reporting.

This whole mess in Plantation really highlights how celebrity, mental health, and social media crash into each other these days. The same apps that made “Hit the Quan” a hit also broadcast Colbert’s breakdown to the world, flipping from fun dance vibes to real cries for help in a flash. It’s a tough reminder that behind all the fame and beats, there’s actual people struggling.
