Marongo stands at an estimated 8 feet 2 inches tall, visibly towering over IShowSpeed and his bodyguards in clips shared online on Jan. 11. Speed appeared both shocked and amused by the height difference, repeatedly reacting as onlookers gathered around the pair.
The 23-year-old Marongo hails from Vihiga County in western Kenya and is locally known as “Kenya’s Goliath” or the “Gen Z Goliath.” He currently lives in Nairobi’s Kangemi area, where he works as a kamagera, helping residents carry goods to earn a living.
While his extraordinary height has garnered him growing attention, it also presents daily challenges. Marongo reportedly wears a shoe size 48 and struggles to find clothing that fits, often relying on oversized basketball jerseys and shorts. His size also affects his diet, with Marongo reportedly consuming up to three kilograms of ugali — a staple food in East Africa — in a single sitting.
Despite the attention surrounding his stature and the viral moment with IShowSpeed, Marongo is widely described as humble and grounded. His demeanor during the meeting only added to the appeal of the clips, which continue to rack up views and reactions online.
