Adin Ross Ends Doechii Beef After NBA Partnership Loss & Backlash

Adin Ross has announced an end to his public dispute with Doechii following weeks of backlash that culminated in the loss of a major NBA partnership.

The controversy traces back to late December, when the Kick streamer began criticizing the Grammy-winning rapper on his livestreams, repeatedly referring to her as an “industry plant.” Ross’ comments escalated into personal attacks, drawing widespread condemnation online. The situation intensified after Ross interrupted Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” during a kickboxing event, a moment that further fueled criticism from viewers and members of the hip-hop community.

Doechii, who won best rap album at the 2025 Grammys for Alligator Bites Never Heal, did not publicly respond to Ross’s remarks. She continued promoting her music, including her late-December collaboration with SZA, “girl, get up.” While some fans interpreted the lyrics in the song as a response to online criticism, Doechii did not address Ross directly.

Ross’s comments sparked strong reactions from several hip-hop figures. Glasses Malone and Joe Budden were among those who publicly criticized the streamer, with Budden calling Ross’ behavior unacceptable on his podcast. Other industry voices also weighed in, framing the situation as part of a broader pattern of disrespect toward Black women in the hip-hop industry.

By early January, Ross confirmed that the fallout had affected his business relationships, including the loss of what he described as a “huge” NBA-related deal. On January 10, Ross stated that he was ending the dispute and no longer intended to speak publicly about Doechii.

In the days surrounding his announcement, Ross also said he planned to donate $100,000 to small Black-owned businesses. The pledge was shared publicly by music executive Wack 100, who stated that the move was intended to be sincere rather than promotional. As of this week, however, questions have circulated online about whether the donation has been finalized, though Ross has maintained that the commitment was genuine.

Throughout the controversy, Doechii has remained focused on her career. “girl, get up.” with SZA has continued to gain traction, and the rapper has not commented publicly on Ross or the backlash surrounding his remarks.

The situation highlights the increasing scrutiny faced by online personalities whose commentary intersects with hip-hop culture, particularly as streaming platforms continue to shape music discourse beyond traditional media.
