A TikTok and YouTube content creator has come under fire after traveling from the United States to Scotland to harass employees of Rockstar North — the studio behind Grand Theft Auto 6.
The creator, who goes by the name backonboulevard, posted videos showing himself waiting outside Rockstar’s Edinburgh office late at night.
According to videos posted on social media, the creator camped outside Rockstar North’s headquarters and approached staff members as they left work, shouting questions such as, “When’s the delay?” and “When’s the next trailer? I wanna know!”
In one clip, the individual proclaims: “We are live here from Edinburgh, Scotland. I flew all the way over here because I’m sick and tired of waiting for the answers… I told you guys I wasn’t playing around.” Employees can be seen walking away as the creator followed them with a camera.
The stunt has been met with swift backlash from the gaming community.
Major Grand Theft Auto fan accounts and creators condemned the behavior on social media. “If you’re waiting outside of somebody’s workplace to harass employees over a video game, give your head a wobble,” tweeted the account GameRoll_, calling the video “disgusting.”
Another account, GTA6Info, wrote: “People are literally camping outside Rockstar North trying to question devs about GTA 6. This is honestly embarrassing behavior. Devs don’t owe you answers on the street, and waiting outside their workplace crosses the line.”
One fan summed it up bluntly: “How delusional a person has to be to harass strangers and expect answers from devs under NDAs minding their own business.”
The incident comes amid growing tension around the release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Initially expected in fall 2025, the game has been pushed back to May 26, 2026, frustrating fans who have already been waiting more than a decade since the release of Grand Theft Auto V in 2013. The delay has also had ripple effects across the gaming industry, with other publishers moving their release dates to avoid competing with what is expected to be one of the biggest launches ever.
This isn’t the first time Rockstar has dealt with extreme fan behavior. Past incidents have included drones flying over its offices and people attempting to photograph staff through windows.
The situation has raised new concerns about how far fans are willing to go and its impact on developers.
Rockstar, which has faced multiple security breaches, including a major leak of early GTA 6 footage, recently introduced stricter policies to protect staff. One policy required employees to return to the office full-time, citing both security and productivity.
Despite speculation from the TikTok creator that a new trailer will drop in late October, no credible evidence supports those claims.
For many, the incident is a reminder that while anticipation for GTA 6 is at an all-time high, respecting the people behind the game is more important than ever.
