Judge Clears Druski in Sexual Assault Case With Diddy — Phone Records Prove He Wasn’t in California

United States District Judge Rita Lin has ruled that comedian Druski was not in California during an alleged sexual assault incident that led to his inclusion in a high-profile lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs. The decision, handed down on Wednesday, July 3, 2025, clears Druski (real name Drew Desbordes) of the allegations, marking a significant victory for the social media star.

The lawsuit, filed by plaintiff Ashley Parham, claims she was sexually assaulted at a party hosted by Combs in California on March 23, 2018. Druski was named among over 20 defendants in an amended complaint filed in March 2025. However, Judge Lin concluded it was “virtually certain” that Druski was in Georgia at the time, effectively dismissing the charges against him.

The ruling hinged on robust evidence that Druski’s legal team presented, which firmly placed him in Georgia during the alleged incident. Court records detail the following:

  • Bank Records: Statements from Bank of America between March 10 and April 9, 2018, showed Druski’s account balance at just $0.91, with his only income being Zelle transfers from his mother, Cheryl. This supported his claim of living at home in Georgia, which was far from the resources needed to attend celebrity events in California.
  • Phone Records: Verizon data revealed that on March 23, 2018—the date of the alleged assault—Druski made 16 calls, all to and from Georgia-based numbers, while on his mother’s phone plan.
  • Geographic Transaction Data: Druski’s purchases during this period, including at Shell gas stations, McDonald’s, and Coldstone Creamery, were traced to Georgia locations.

Judge Lin emphasized the strength of this evidence, stating,

“The documentary evidence provided by Mr. Desbordes’ legal team is compelling and leaves no doubt that he was not in California at the time of the alleged incident.”

While Judge Lin acknowledged that Parham initially appeared to have a “reasonable factual basis” for naming Druski, the evidence ultimately unraveled her claims. The judge cited “a complete lack of connection” between Druski and the alleged California location or other defendants. Key factors undermining the case included:

  • Timeline Inconsistencies: In 2018, Druski was a 23-year-old waiter in Georgia, not yet a public figure with ties to the entertainment world.
  • Physical Description Mismatch: Early police reports described the alleged attackers as “thin white men,” a profile that did not match Druski.
  • Late Addition to Lawsuit: Druski’s name was added to the lawsuit only after it gained media traction, casting doubt on the timing and intent behind his inclusion.

Druski has consistently denied the allegations, labeling them a “fabricated lie” on social media.

“I wasn’t a public figure in 2018—I was broke living with my mom without any connections to the entertainment industry at the time of this allegation, so the inclusion of my name is truly outlandish,”

He said.

His legal team, led by attorney David Grossman, argued that the case was built on inconsistencies and lacked due diligence. They asserted that Parham’s attorneys “recklessly put forth a story in which [Druski]—at the time a broke waiter in Georgia—somehow ended up in Orinda, California, with a slew of celebrities he had not yet met.”

Following the dismissal, Druski’s lawyers are seeking sanctions against Parham’s attorneys, Ariel Mitchell and Sean Perez, for filing a frivolous lawsuit. They are requesting attorney’s fees and financial penalties, and a hearing to determine if Parham and her team will face damages is scheduled for July 8, 2025.

The case is part of a larger sexual assault lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, who faces multiple allegations and federal charges. The March 2025 amended complaint also named figures like NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. among the defendants linked to alleged incidents at Combs’ parties.

Druski’s exoneration is a testament to the power of documented evidence in high-profile legal battles. His career, built on social media comedy and collaborations with major artists, remains intact, bolstered by this legal win.
