Lilly Tino Faces Prison After Recording in Disney Women’s Bathroom

Trans influencer Lilly Tino, who gained popularity for uploading videos reviewing public toilets, took a series of mirror selfies and videos captured inside a Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida, women’s restroom. What could not have been predicted for him was the legal reaction and national indignation to follow.

The videos uploaded between May 26 and June 2, 2025 had reportedly included other women and even kids as background, their face and body appearing against their consent. While in an atmosphere understood to be a private sanctuary to the majority, the event posed a bigger question: How far do we draw the line between content and private individual.

Lilly Tino, born Nicholas Sylvan Contino, is a 31-year-old transgender influencer with over 400,000 TikTok followers. Known for his outspoken posts about trans rights, public life, and gender transition, also created a controversial bathroom review series, rating public restrooms across the country.

This isn’t his first brush with Disney-related drama. Tino previously clashed with staff over misgendering issues, incidents that made waves in online communities and added to his polarizing image.

“I’m just living my truth, and people love to twist that into something it’s not,”

Tino once said in a now-deleted video.

The Attorney General’s office of the state of Florida opened a formal investigation against recordings from Tino’s bathroom on June 24, 2025, on the premise of Florida Statute 810.145, a statute against illegal recordings of private places like bathrooms or dressing rooms.

If convicted, Tino faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

“Recording someone in a place where they reasonably expect privacy is not only wrong, it’s criminal,”

An AG spokesperson told Inside the Magic.

The internet erupted. Two petitions on Change.org have amassed over 289,000 signatures, demanding TikTok ban Tino’s account and that Disney banned him from all properties. Some parents are reportedly preparing civil lawsuits for invasion of privacy and emotional distress particularly a mother whose child appeared in one of the videos.

J.K. Rowling shared a critical post on X, saying:

“Women and girls deserve privacy. This isn’t about hate it’s about basic decency.”

Tino, in response, defended his actions, stating:

“Everyone takes selfies in bathrooms. This only became a scandal because I’m trans.”

While some LGBTQ+ advocates have stood by him, others have voiced concern that his actions could set back progress for trans inclusion. One trans content creator commented:

“he crossed a line that puts all of us at risk.”

The controversy has reignited the ongoing culture war in Florida, where 2023 laws restrict bathroom access based on sex assigned at birth. Tino’s case exists in a gray zone Disney World is private property, but Florida’s laws still apply.

Critics say this incident shows the growing problem of influencer entitlement, where the drive for content ignores basic human boundaries. Supporters argue it’s an example of trans creators being unfairly targeted.
