Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley seemed to have a lot to smile about this Super Bowl Sunday. Not only did he compiled a determinative performance in the Eagles’ dominant 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, his 28th birthday was also one for the books — as he kicked off the additional lap around the sun with flair — with the arrival of a one-of-a-kind $100,000 diamond chain he wore boldly showing off the signature number of “26,” adorned across his neck.
Barkley’s performance in the championship game was simply phenomenal. His work on the field helped the Eagles win their second Super Bowl title, capping off a season in which he received the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year award. In the process, Barkley broke Terrell Davis’ record for most rushing yards in a season, cementing his own status in NFL history.
His Super Bowl victory was lucrative as well. Barkley received a $250,000 championship bonus in addition to the $1.5 million playoff bonuses he had already earned. With a season total of earnings at $15 million, the star running back was rewarded professionally and monetarily.
The in-game celebration did not stop there. Barkley became the talk of the day after flaunting his bling diamond chain, a show-stopping piece that reportedly has more than 200 carats of diamonds. The chain is crafted by popular jeweler Benny the Jeweler and is very similar to the one Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts wears. Social media blew up with reactions, with NFL legends Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson putting the chain at approximately $100,000.
Barkley celebrated his new bling in a viral video that made headlines overnight. The piece of jewelry represents his journey—once a young Giants rookie, now a Super Bowl champion with the Eagles. Other than the celebrations, Barkley’s post-game moments were also emotional. His six-year-old daughter, Jada, won hearts when she called him her “favorite” during an emotional interview. His two-year-old son, Saquon Jr., on the other hand, interrupted another interview to ask about his mother, Anna Congdon.
Off the field, Barkley has transitioned perfectly into Philadelphia. He signed a three-year, $37 million contract with the Eagles last season, with $26 million guaranteed. As part of the contract, he purchased a 10,000-square-foot Malvern, Pennsylvania, mansion for $3.9 million, showing his commitment to the city and team for the long haul.
