EST Lu Mike, an affiliate of EST Gee, was fatally shot in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 12, 2024. According to the police, the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Poplar Level Road and Navaho Drive. A second call for shots fired brought officers to the scene, where they found the body of Lu Mike with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead there. So far, police officials have not shared any information regarding potential suspects or motives in this shooting.
The shooting happens after the manager of EST Gee, Devontae Beach, who also goes by the name EST Big Beach, was shot and killed after a concert in Louisville on July 21, 2024. Beach was found with gunshot wounds in a car off the road near the KFC Yum! Center, which on Thursday night had hosted the Summer Jam event with performances by EST Gee, Lil Baby, and Yo Gotti. No arrests have been made and it is not known if Beach was targeted.
A local music scene plagued by security questions and ongoing violence is another thing connecting both killings. While Louisville Metro Police are investigating both incidents, there is no confirmation of any link between the two murders.
