A guy got stabbed in the arm by seven teens inside the men’s restroom at the Westfield Wheaton Mall in Wheaton, Maryland, on February 4, 2026, around noon. The Montgomery County cops said that the guy’s wounds were not life-threatening and that the guy got medical attention at a nearby hospital. The teens took off immediately after the crime. So far, no one has been arrested.
The guy was just entering the restroom on the block of 11100 Veirs Mill Road when the seven teens attacked him. The cops said that the teens were two Black males and five Hispanic males and that they were still teens. They were armed and attacked the guy, stabbing him in the arm several times. The guy managed to get out of the restroom and get medical attention. The case is being charged as first-degree assault.
A tweet from X.
Early last month, the cops finally released grainy surveillance video of the teens attacking the guy. The video is about 53 seconds long and shows the teens walking into the restroom area of the mall together. A short while later, they’re walking out of the restroom area together as if nothing had happened. The quality of the video isn’t the best, so it’s difficult to see everything that went on. However, it’s clear enough to get the gist of the situation. The teens were walking around the mall together as if they were friends.
Detectives are still trying to ID the teens and put the video out there hoping someone recognizes them. Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering rewards anywhere from $250 up to $10,000 for tips that actually lead to arrests and convictions. You can call 1-866-411-8477 or drop an anonymous tip at www.crimesolversmcmd.org. As of the middle of March 2026, there still haven’t been any arrests.
The clip really took off on X after @unlimited_ls posted it on March 11 with the caption “Seven ‘teens’ stab a man in the arm inside a bathroom at Wheaton Mall in Maryland.” It racked up hundreds of reposts and over 600 replies fast, with people losing it over how the group just attacked someone in broad daylight and then walked out grinning.
A lot of folks in Montgomery County are fed up with youth crime happening in public spots like this. Under that X post you see tons of comments about how scary it is that stuff like this goes down in busy malls during the middle of the day. Local reports say Wheaton Mall has already beefed up security after earlier problems, but people are still worried about the restrooms and other areas that aren’t watched as closely especially when packs of teens are roaming around together. A bunch of folks are also asking why it took police over a month to even release the video.
Sometimes these viral clips online leave out important context, like the exact timeline or the police descriptions, but in this case everything lines up with what the officers actually said.
The investigation is still going. Police are counting on the public to help spot these kids in the footage. Tips can still get you the full reward, so if you know who they are, speak up. Mall visitors and parents are being told to stay alert. No new arrest updates yet, but the Crime Solvers hotline and website are still wide open. If you recognize the group, call or submit a tip right away.
