TikTok Couple Arrested for Allegedly Setting Abandoned West Virginia Home on Fire

The TikTok famous couple from Charleston, West Virginia, known for sharing the details of their lives on TikTok, now stands accused of felonies because of the burning of an empty building and damage to a church caused by the fire over the weekend.

Dakota Michael Harper, 21, and Felicity Dawn Eatmon, 22, were arrested and arraigned on September 29. Each faces one count of first-degree arson and one count of conspiracy to commit arson, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court and detailed by local station WCHS.

The fire was reported around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, at an abandoned home in the 400 block of Maryland Avenue on Charleston’s West Side. Investigators said the property had no active utilities. Smoke continued into Monday morning as the remains smoldered.

Charleston Fire Marshal A.J. White’s complaint states that surveillance video from an adjacent alley captured the pair near the side door before the blaze. According to the complaint as reported by WCHS, Eatmon handed Harper what appeared to be a piece of paper. The two allegedly used a handheld ignition source to light it, and Harper placed the burning material inside the house. The footage then allegedly shows them partially entering the structure as the fire grew. Eatmon was seen leaving a short time later; Harper moved out of camera view.

The video itself has not been released publicly. These details come from the criminal complaint and remain allegations.

The abandoned house was destroyed. The neighboring Canaan United Methodist Church sustained more than $10,000 in estimated damage, the complaint states. That figure covers the church, not the full value of the vacant home.

Harper and Eatmon have a shared TikTok account where they share details about their lives and relationship. The number of followers for the account was approximately 26,700 at the time of their arrest.

No reporting confirms they were filming content at the time of the fire. Authorities have not disclosed a motive.

Both were held at South Central Regional Jail on $10,000 bond each. Jail records list Harper at 3 feet 9 inches and 43 pounds. Eatmon is listed at 5 feet 1 inch.

West Virginia’s first-degree arson statute covers dwellings whether occupied, unoccupied, or vacant. The charges are serious felonies, but they remain unproven. Harper’s public defender, Richard Holicker, has stressed the presumption of innocence, telling reporters the matter is “just a charge.”

Motive has not been stated by investigators. The surveillance footage has not been released for public review. No plea has been entered in the latest available reports, and the case is still at the charging stage.

Arrests and complaints are not convictions. Dakota Harper and Felicity Eatmon are presumed innocent. Any final determination will come through the court process.
