LEGO Group is expanding its Minecraft lineup with a standalone Chicken Jockey build, capitalizing on the meme-worthy mob’s popularity from both the video game and the 2025 Warner Bros. film.
The new set, numbered 21582 and simply titled Chicken Jockey, will retail for $29.99 and contain 344 pieces. Aimed at ages 9 and up, it is scheduled for release on August 1, 2026.
According to product details, the set features a large posable chicken, a baby zombie that can mount the chicken to recreate the classic Chicken Jockey, and a smaller baby chicken as an additional element. All figures are constructed entirely from bricks rather than traditional minifigures. The finished model stands over 8 inches tall and includes movable wings and legs on the chicken, along with fully articulated limbs on the baby zombie for dynamic posing and play.
The Chicken Jockey has long been a fan-favorite rare spawn in Minecraft, but its cultural footprint grew significantly following memorable appearances in A Minecraft Movie, turning the chaotic pairing into a widely recognized meme.
This dedicated set joins other Minecraft Movie-related releases already in the market. The previously launched Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring (set 21272) incorporates a Chicken Jockey within a larger battle scene featuring characters from the film. Another upcoming 2026 release, Chicken Jockey Desert Attack (set 21592), will offer a variant with a baby husk for approximately $24.99.
The release reflects LEGO’s ongoing strategy to deepen its partnership with Minecraft, blending nostalgia for longtime players with fresh excitement generated by the Hollywood adaptation. The mid-range price point and focused build make the Chicken Jockey set an accessible entry for both collectors and younger fans looking to recreate iconic game moments.
The set is expected to be available for pre-order in the coming months on LEGO.com and through major retailers worldwide.
