Khloé Kardashian has officially adopted the “one-and-done” rule for Coachella after a frightening experience a decade ago left her shaken and unwilling to return.
The 41-year-old reality star shared the candid story on the May 6 episode of her podcast Khloé in Wonder Land, revealing that her only visit to the iconic music festival — around 2016 — took a dark turn at an off-site party in the California desert.
“I have gone to Coachella. I’ve gone once,” Kardashian said. “It was many moons ago. I want to say 2016 or something like that. It wasn’t the best experience. I got drugged without me knowing, but I think everyone knew.”
According to Khloé, a mysterious juice was being passed around at the celebrity-filled gathering. She stressed that she does not believe anyone intentionally spiked her drink, but rather that she was unaware of the heavy drug culture surrounding her.
“I don’t think anyone drugged me,” she clarified. “I just think I was the dumb one and didn’t realize that everyone was on drugs. I remember drinking this drink and just feeling really crazy. No one wants to feel like that and not know why they’re like that.”
As the effects intensified, a terrified Khloé locked herself in a bathroom for hours.
“I just didn’t realize what was happening until after it happened, that I was on drugs and everyone was yelling at me because I wouldn’t get out of the bathroom,” she recalled. “But I got scared. I was in my head. I was so scared, so my experience was not good.”
The unsettling ordeal has kept her away from the festival ever since, even as her sisters have made Coachella a regular tradition.
Just weeks ago, during an April 29 episode of her podcast, Khloé admitted to feeling rare FOMO when her entire family attended the 2026 event. She stayed home in Los Angeles to celebrate her daughter True’s birthday, missing what she described as the first year all her sisters were there together.
While Khloé sat this one out, the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan embraced the desert festivities. Kim Kardashian, 45, was spotted linking arms with boyfriend Lewis Hamilton at Justin Bieber’s headlining performance.
Kourtney Kardashian, 47, hosted a star-studded party through her Camp Poosh brand, Kendall Jenner, 30, hosted an exclusive event for her 818 tequila line, and Kylie Jenner, 28, enjoyed both weekends so much that she attended twice. Momager Kris Jenner watched Bieber’s set from abroad via livestream, calling it “an amazing night” and describing the singer as “part of our family.”
Khloé’s vulnerable revelation has drawn attention for highlighting the potential risks in high-pressure festival environments where substance use is often normalized. Though the experience was far from positive, she presented it as a lesson in awareness rather than an accusation.
