Jeremy Williams Executed in Alabama for 2021 Murder of 5-Year-Old

Jeremy Tremaine Williams, aged 42, was put to death through lethal injection on Thursday at Holman Correctional Facility in Alabama and was declared dead at 6:16 PM CDT. This was the first execution for the year 2026 in the state and the first US execution for a killing in the 2020s. The day saw Tennessee and Oklahoma executing offenders as well.

Williams was convicted in the December 2021 kidnapping, rape, sodomy, and murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland from the Columbus, Georgia area. He paid the girl’s mother, Kristy Marie Siple, $2,500 for access to the child. He took her to a vacant house in Phenix City, Alabama, forced her to consume methamphetamine, filmed the sexual assaults on his phone, strangled her, and abused her body after death. Her body was found under a tarp that same night. Williams was arrested the day of the crime.

In April 2024, a Russell County jury convicted him of four counts of capital murder and related charges. He was sentenced to death. Siple pleaded guilty to sex trafficking her daughter and received a 20-year sentence in July 2024.

Williams’ final meal was cheese pizza. His last words were:

“I want to thank God for forgiving me for my sins so I can meet him in peace. Goodnight.”

Death penalty cases in Alabama often stretch for years or decades. This one did not. Williams waived his appeals. Courts found him competent. He repeatedly asked the state to move the execution forward so he would not spend decades on death row “looking over his shoulder.”

Governor Kay Ivey set the August 13 window and declined clemency. The process from the 2021 crime to the 2026 execution was unusually short because of his own requests.

After the execution, Gov. Ivey and Attorney General Steve Marshall described the crime as depraved and among the worst against a child in Alabama history. Both said the death penalty exists for cases like this one.

The case closed a grim chapter for the victim’s family and the communities on both sides of the state line. Alabama carried out the sentence Williams himself sought.
