Indian Influencer Flees Home After Followers Flood Address with Expensive COD Deliveries

MADURAI, India: Madurai-based content creator Veeramani was forced to flee his home this week after a simple request for Diwali sweets spiraled into a barrage of unsolicited cash-on-delivery orders, according to multiple local reports.

The influencer, known for his humorous reels and use of local slang, shared his residential address in West Anuppanadi on social media hoping followers would send him a box of sweets for the festival. Instead, pranksters used the address to place a stream of orders for high-value electronics and appliances on Amazon and Flipkart, including refrigerators, washing machines, smartphones, and televisions , one television order valued at ₹1.69 lakh, the Economic Times reported.

Delivery personnel from Amazon and Flipkart arrived throughout the day and night, according to the Times of India. Food delivery workers from Swiggy and Zomato also turned up with orders placed by others. Pranksters circulated screenshots claiming orders for JCB excavators and a ₹70 crore military tank, while someone even shared Veeramani’s number for kidney donation inquiries.

“I am suffering a lot after requesting a sweet box. I bow at your feet… Please stop ordering. I am under severe pressure,” Veeramani said in a video posted from his home, pleading with followers to end the harassment.

The deliveries continued despite his appeal. When reporters and other influencers visited his Anuppanadi residence, they found the house locked. Neighbors said he had vacated after persistent deliveries day and night, according to LiveMint.

In recent social media reels, Veeramani said he was traveling and that people would no longer be able to locate his address. “I am travelling. No one can find my address. Now, no one can control me now,” he said. His current whereabouts remain unclear, and calls to his public phone number are reportedly blocked.
