This lucky but unnamed individual hailing from the Chicago suburbs managed to win the Illinois Lucky Day Lotto with a prize amounting to $1.3 million in the evening draw held on June 11, 2026. The man was able to match all five numbers, namely 1, 13, 19, 27, and 35, by purchasing an instant play ticket on sheer luck at the BP gas station in Oswego, Illinois.
“I just stopped by the store for a drink and thought, ‘Why not?’”
The winner recalled to lottery officials.
“I played a Quick Pick, and it turned out to be a lucky day.”
He wasn’t even planning to play. After grabbing his drink, the whim struck, and he added the ticket to his purchase at the Oswego BP located at 2791 US Highway 34. Later, when he scanned the ticket, disbelief hit hard.
