A young mother went viral after breaking down in tears in an emotional video, revealing she missed her 3-year-old son’s birthday and spent approximately $3,000 on travel and tickets to see NBA YoungBoy at Rolling Loud Orlando 2026, only for the rapper to cancel his headlining performance.
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, traveled to Camping World Stadium in Orlando and skipped her toddler’s third birthday celebration — which fell over Mother’s Day weekend — to attend the festival. On May 7, days before the event, NBA YoungBoy (born Kentrell Gaulden) announced via Instagram Stories that he would not perform.
“To my Rolling Loud family, I won’t be making it this time. I just need some time away from traveling and performing right now,” he wrote. “Love to everybody supporting me, I’ll forever appreciate y’all!”
Organizers replaced him with Ken Carson as Sunday’s headliner. The festival proceeded with Don Toliver on Friday and Playboy Carti on Saturday.
In the raw video, which has amassed hundreds of thousands of views across Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts, the mother expressed her frustration and heartbreak while appearing to be at the airport.
“I don’t have enough time, but I’m pissed off right now, you guys,” she said in the clip. “I literally paid over $3,000 to go on a trip to see my favorite artist ever, motherfuckin’ [NBA YoungBoy]. And I just go on Instagram and I’m at the motherfuckin’ airport, I’m finna go to Orlando… And they said he’s gonna drop out. I’m literally gonna start crying on my cell. I’m… I’m… I’m… I can’t do this.”
Public reaction has been sharply divided. Many fans expressed sympathy for the emotional and monetary toll, noting the deep connection YoungBoy’s music has with his dedicated following. Others were critical of her decision to prioritize the concert over her young son’s birthday.
NBA YoungBoy maintains one of hip-hop’s most loyal fanbases, though he has dealt with ongoing legal and personal challenges that have sometimes impacted his performance schedule. Rolling Loud, one of the biggest annual hip-hop festivals, has seen occasional last-minute artist changes in the past.
