Elton John Joins Dua Lipa On Stage for an Unforgettable ‘Cold Heart’ Performance

Elton John and Dua Lipa dazzled Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles during Elton’s farewell concert. The magical duo graced the stage on November 20, 2022, in stalwart performance of their hit song “Cold Heart” that left fans abuzz. This surprise collaboration was not just a performance but a heartfelt celebration of music, friendship, and a legendary career.

The lights dimmed, and the crowd roared louder. It was an electric atmosphere packed with fans who were eager to be a part of such a unique combination of musical talent from both generations. Setting the stage for this unforgettable moment was Elton’s legendary style blended with Dua’s modern flair. Beautifully blending their voices, they captured the essence of “Cold Heart,” a cleverly interlaced remix of pieces from a number of Elton’s classic chart hits, including “Rocket Man.”

The song “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)” by Elton John and Dua Lipa was officially released on August 13, 2021. This collaboration served as the lead single from Elton John’s album The Lockdown Sessions. The track quickly gained popularity, reaching the number one spot on the UK Singles Chart on October 15, 2021, marking it as a significant hit for both artists.

Remixed by the Australian trio Pnau, the song strikes just the right balance between old and new, appealing to long-standing Elton fans as well as those newer ones won over by Dua’s energetic charm. This collaboration won the Best Collaboration award at the 2022 American Music Awards and is a fantastic blend of Elton’s classic hits.

This collaboration is rooted in a budding friendship. It all started back in November 2020 when Elton made an appearance in Dua’s Studio 2054 livestream. From there, their bonding brought them to perform at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party.

Elton mentioned how he wanted to make music that reflected his legacy but spoke to today’s generation. It is clear that the single “Cold Heart” is a labor of love designed deliberately in a way to please an extended range of fans. During the performance, Elton was joined by fellow artists Dua, Kiki Dee, and Brandi Carlile, adding more star power to the already blinding night.

The crowd was on its feet, singing along, as the duo played not just “Cold Heart” and treated everybody to the classic duet “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” This addition was a nice nod to Elton’s deep catalog and a nod to his continuing impact on music.

Elton John seemed peculiarly pleased to share the stage with Dua, speaking highly of her talent and the joy of their collaboration. He said, “We get on like a house on fire,” and made sure it did. Their chemistry right on stage was palpable, connected back to the audience in such a touching manner. Fans were not just witnessing a performance; they were part of a historic music moment.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa thanked Elton for his great career and confessed that a dream came true when she could perform “Cold Heart” live. She expressed her gratitude for sharing the stage with such a music icon and mentioned how much she learned from him during their collaboration. Without overpowering one another, these two strong artists merged together in perfect harmony, which was great for all who present there.

Elton launched his farewell tour in 2018, and the tour has been an emotional affair: from health coplications to the pandemic, events had taken a turn to slow him down, yet he was determined to be there for his fans, performing with power in the delivery of great talent he possesses and the legacy that will hang on.

By the time the concert came to a close, it was abundantly clear that Elton is not just saying goodbye to touring but celebrating a lifetime of music touching millions of people. The Dodger Stadium gig was captured for a special entitled “Elton John Live From Dodger Stadium” that will stream exclusively on Disney+. Produced by Fulwell 73 Productions and Rocket Entertainment, this show promises to share the magic of that night with fans not able to be there.

When Elton John took to the road, his tour grossed over $600 million, securing him in music history. His farewell trek is now one of only three tours across this monumental threshold-a testament to his artistry and the impact he has on the world of music.
