Adam The Woo, the longtime YouTube creator whose relaxed, curiosity-driven videos exploring theme parks, abandoned locations, and roadside Americana helped define an early era of vlogging, has died. He was 51.
The creator, whose real name was David Adam Williams, was found unresponsive in his home in Celebration, Fla., on Monday, Dec. 22, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were conducting a welfare check after friends became concerned when they were unable to reach him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A cause of death has not yet been released.
Deputies first responded to the residence shortly after noon but were unable to make contact because the home was secured. A concerned friend later borrowed a ladder to look through a third-story window and saw Williams lying motionless on a bed, prompting a second response from law enforcement and Fire Rescue around 2:53 p.m. Authorities said a medical examiner is conducting an autopsy and that the investigation is ongoing. No foul play has been indicated.
Williams was last seen by a friend on Dec. 21, the same day he uploaded his final YouTube video — a festive vlog centered on Christmas decorations and holiday events in Celebration, including interactions with a Grinch character. He appeared in good spirits throughout the video.
Born Aug. 10, 1974, Williams launched his primary YouTube channel, Adam The Woo, in 2009, greeting viewers with his now-iconic phrase, “Join me, shall you?” He quickly gained a following for his understated, immersive approach to content, documenting visits to Disney theme parks, movie filming locations, abandoned sites such as the former Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, and everyday travel experiences.
In 2012, he expanded his output with TheDailyWoo, committing to a daily vlog schedule for five consecutive years — a milestone that helped solidify his reputation as one of the platform’s early and most consistent creators. By 2025, his channels collectively had more than 1.1 million subscribers.
Widely regarded as an “OG” of theme park and urban exploration vlogging, Williams traveled extensively, visited all 50 U.S. states, and periodically lived a van-life lifestyle, favoring minimal editing and a calm, conversational tone that resonated with viewers.
His final video, uploaded December 21, showed him attending local Christmas events in Celebration, Florida, including interactions with a Grinch character. He appeared in good spirits, with no visible signs of distress.
Tributes poured in following news of his death. Fellow YouTuber Justin Scarred, a close friend, described Williams as a “giant” who touched countless lives. The Disneyland-focused channel Fresh Baked! Wrote, “He was the best of us. Always kind. Incredibly generous.” Fans shared messages crediting his videos with inspiring travel, sparking new interests, and providing comfort during difficult times.
Williams is survived by his parents, Jim and June, and his sister, Faith. His body of work — comprising thousands of videos that document a life spent exploring — remains widely accessible online, continuing to influence and inspire viewers around the world.
