Chicago drill pioneer Chief Keef was reportedly spotted at a Detroit gas station this week accompanied by members of his Glo Gang crew and a heavily armed private security detail, according to multiple viral videos circulating on social media.
Footage shared beginning around September 22 shows the rapper, born Keith Cozart and widely known as Sosa, standing outside or near a gas station with his entourage while tactical-style security guards in full gear positioned themselves protectively around the group. Captions and posts from accounts including Daily Loud, My Mixtapez, and Traps N Trunks emphasized the presence of the armed guards even as Keef remained surrounded by his longtime associates.
The clips quickly gained traction online, with many viewers linking the heightened security to the recent fatal ambush of Chicago rapper Bloodhound Q50. On September 13, the 22-year-old artist, whose real name was Mikquale T. Cooper, was shot and killed while seated in a white Tesla at a BP gas station in Chicago’s Fuller Park neighborhood. Police reported that six gunmen in two vehicles opened fire, discharging more than 50 rounds. Q50 was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests had been announced in the days following the attack.
Keef’s Detroit appearance also followed closely after his own concert at The Fillmore on September 14 as part of the Chief Keef Live 2026 tour. The tour launched in Chicago earlier that week and included subsequent stops in Minneapolis, Indianapolis, and other cities.
Social media reactions largely framed the security presence as a prudent measure. Commenters noted the history of violence targeting rappers at gas stations and convenience stores, with several calling Keef’s approach “smart” given the risks associated with the lifestyle and the timing of Q50’s death just days earlier.
No incident was reported during the Detroit stop, and there has been no official comment from Keef’s camp or local authorities. The clips simply capture Sosa moving carefully in public — Glo Gang close, security closer.
