ATLiens Send Next Signal With Bass Bomb “IMMA,” With Badrapper

2

From their short time on this planet, ATLiens have become synonymous with sinister, incongruous soundscapes that serve as glimpses into their enigmatic psyche. Their newest drop to Earth is “IMMA,” producedin collaboration with Badrapper; a steady, throbbing journey through wobbling basslines and mechanical synths. The general Halloween-esque feel of “IMMA” is exacerbated by some creepy sound sampling, such a hysterical laughter at one point in the track. ATLiens have recruited Badrapper for a collaboration on the track, a sign that their infiltration of our planet and music industry has reached its next level. ATLiens are fresh from their debut “The Invasion” North America tour, where they took over iconic venues such as Avalon HollywoodSterolive in Houston, and Sound Bar in Chicago, including some sold out dates. All of these signs point to ATLiens‘ increasing presence on our planet, and begs the existential question…what do they want from us? Stay tuned to find out the next piece of the puzzle from these silver-masked mysteries.

We may not know what their purpose on Earth is, but we do know that ATLiens have been gradually infiltrating the minds of electronic music fans since their initial releases; they first struck out with the hard-hitting “Watch Out,” featuring the Ragga Twins, and “Malfunction” with TYNANATLiens then hit Earthwith their six track EP “Invasion,” full of bass-heavy, robotic tracks that caught the attention of humans around the globe. Pair their 26-city tour with collaborations from BassnectarQuix, and their single “Interstellar” breaking radio, ATLiens have been growing stronger at an exponential rate. They’re becoming even more fearless with every coming release, including “Exile” and now “IMMA,” which leads us to believe that there will be more sightings of these extraterrestrials very soon. Stay tuned for more signals from ATLiens very soon.

Listen: Scooty-“The Difference”

Hailing from Houston, TX and now residing in Portland, OR – up and coming R&B artist Scooty is set to make big waves in the music industry.
With a unique and individual style, Scooty walks the line between a soul singer and a rapper, but it’s her voice that will blow you away with one listen. On her latest single “The Difference” Scooty sounds right and home and perfectly in the pocket while breaking down everything that separates her from the average artist and woman.

Produced by West Coast artist TOPE (Slum Village, Blu, Gift Of Gab) “The Difference” is gritty yet smooth all the same time, drenched with bass and well-placed guitar licks. Marking the first official single from their upcoming album, Scooty and TOPE give us just a taste of the possibilities of where this collaboration can go on “The Difference,” leaving listeners hitting rewind by the time the track ends.
With only a handful of releases under her belt, it’s only a matter of time before Scooty in on the worldwide R&B radar.

Listen: Jaquan Grand-“Kiss Me Over The Garden

0

Highly anticipated “Kiss Me Over The Garden” a sexy, caribbean and sensual vibe that will keep an audience wanting more.

Working non-stop, Grand has continuously brought dope music to the game. In the midst of the Ep being created Jaquan was going through a brand change .  Since 2011 Grand was going by the name of “2UP” but in his most recent endeavors his artist name has been changed to “Jaquan Grand”. Grand’s saying is “Versatility is key”, meaning with his music, and his way of life.

With this Ep Grand shows a very vulnerable side of him, a side that he has never shown the world. He is confidently “testing the waters”.  Jaquan Grand was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. Grand grew up under the writing influences of 4 major rappers in the music industry such as Lil Wayne, TI, Fabulous, & 50 Cent. In 2014 he formed a record label called “R.O.E Records LLC”.

The future of Megyn Kelly at NBC called into question

Megyn Kelly has been in the press quite a lot this week, due to her blackface comments. On the morning show on NBC, Kelly stated: What is racist? You do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person that puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid, that was okay, as long as you were dressing up as, like, a character.”
This statement got received backlash as her name trended on twitter. In response, Kelly went on television and delivered an apology, saying: “I want to begin with two words: I’m sorry,” she said. “I defended the idea, saying as long as it was respectful and part of the Halloween costume, it seemed OK. Well, I was wrong and I am sorry.”

Even though she apologized, that seems to have not been enough. According to Hollywood Reporter, due to the criticism that Kelly is receiving, NBC has decided to not allow her to return to the morning show. This has yet to be confirmed by NBC but it is doubtful that she will return to the show. Megyn Kelly has yet to comment on if she will be still working with NBC.

Civil rights groups urge tech companies shut down hate speech

Civil rights organizations, such as the Center for American Progress and Free Press, have started a petition that asks social networking companies and retailers to crack down on hate groups. This is in response to the Neo-Nazi march in Charlottesville last year and the recent Proud Boys recruitment on Facebook. Social media has often been a hot spot of hate speech. Various white nationalist groups have created various platforms on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Reddit, and other sites. This petition seeks to push companies to do even more than they’ve done about these groups.
