A wild, selfie-style video of a Black man enthusiastically pitching President Donald Trump on hiring his “athletic crew” to chase down undocumented immigrants for a cash bounty is blowing up on X, racking up tens of thousands of views and igniting a firestorm of reactions just hours after it dropped.
The video shows the man, decked out in a backward orange-and-green baseball cap, bright yellow safety vest, gold chain and flashy dental grills, recording from the driver’s seat of a vehicle as he delivers a high-energy, slang-heavy pitch straight to “DJT.”
“Hey Donald Trump, listen here, bro-bro,” he says. “How much you payin’ per illegal? ’Cause I got about 50 n****s over here — tall ones, 6-foot-1, 6-foot-2, 6-foot-3 — that I know can run a Mexican down in 0.3 seconds, easy.” He goes on to joke that the “dope game” is over and it’s time for a “new game: catchin’ illegals,” name-checking Mexicans, Venezuelans and Hondurans. The video lands as Trump’s second-term mass deportation operation hits high gear, with the White House touting the removal of more than 4,000 criminal migrants in Minnesota alone as part of “Operation Metro Surge.” ICE has reportedly been pushed to hit daily arrest quotas as high as 3,000, fueling broader conversations about private or community involvement in enforcement.
The idea isn’t entirely out of left field: Last year, Mississippi lawmakers floated House Bill 1484, which would have created a certified bounty hunter program offering cash rewards for tips leading to deportations. Though the bill ultimately stalled in committee, the concept clearly lingers in the cultural zeitgeist.
Reactions on X are all over the map. Some users are cracking up and running with the bit, tossing out suggested bounty prices (“$500 a head!”) or fake reality-show titles like All American Bounty Hunters. Others are treating it as a legit business pitch, arguing everyday Americans would help out for free if given legal cover. On the flip side, critics are calling the video out for leaning into harmful stereotypes about both Black communities and immigrants, with plenty accusing it of outright racism.
