Boosie Badazz has addressed the recent arrests of two of his sons in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, framing the situation as a spiritual attack on his family.
In a video posted in late October, the Baton Rouge rapper said, “The devil was coming. I ain’t know it. He couldn’t get to me, so he got to get to me through my kids, you know, so.” The comments come after his 18-year-old son, Ivy Ray Hatch (known as Ray Ray), and a 16-year-old juvenile were taken into custody following an alleged battery and robbery on October 21.
According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call on Buffwood Street in Denham Springs around 7 p.m. that evening. The victim reported being assaulted and robbed. Hatch was arrested the following day and booked on armed robbery, aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm with drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A judge set his bond at $275,500. He posted bond and was released from the Livingston Parish Detention Center the same night. The juvenile was transferred to the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.
Two additional individuals — 19-year-old Antonio Cooley and 18-year-old Calei Ely — were later arrested in connection with the case. Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing. No further details about any items taken or the extent of the victim’s injuries have been released by authorities.
In his video, Boosie confirmed that both sons were involved. He noted that Ray Ray bonded out quickly, while the 16-year-old, who was already on probation, faced an accessory charge and was expected to be released the day Boosie spoke. The rapper rejected the robbery allegation, stating, “Nah, my son ain’t rob nobody, bro. My son ain’t got to do that, bro.” He described the incident as a fight and pointed to Ray Ray’s appearance as evidence against the claim. “Son got a Rollie on, bro. Like a cheap watch, you think my son going to rob somebody for that? Son got a Rolex on, bro. Cuban diamonds…”
The comments arrive against the backdrop of Boosie’s well-documented relationship with his children. Ray Ray graduated high school in the spring of 2026, an occasion Boosie marked publicly with photos of his son in a graduation gown and custom stole. The rapper has previously shared images of luxury gifts given to his kids, including a Rolex and a BMW X6 for Ray Ray in prior years — details that lend weight to his assertion that his son had no reason to commit robbery.
This is not the first legal issue involving one of Boosie’s sons. In 2025, another son, Tootie Raww, was arrested in the Atlanta area on gun and obstruction charges. Boosie has spoken in the past about the risks surrounding his children and the people they associate with.
As of late October, Ray Ray remains free on bond. The 16-year-old was expected to be released following Boosie’s video. Neither Cooley nor Ely has been convicted of any charges related to the October 21 incident. Under Louisiana law, armed robbery can carry a sentence of 10 to 99 years without the possibility of parole in certain cases.
Local outlets including WAFB, WBRZ, and The Advocate first reported the arrests, charges, and bond amount. Boosie’s statements are drawn from the video he released, which circulated widely on social media. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office has not issued further public updates on the case.
