Drake’s representative has firmly denied rumors that the rapper is the father of singer Keshia Chanté’s unborn child, calling the claims inaccurate after she announced her pregnancy on Tuesday.
The Agency Group, which represents Drake, told TMZ it can “completely and unequivocally” deny the reports. A spokesperson separately confirmed to People that the speculation is “false.”
Chanté, 38, revealed she is seven months pregnant with a baby boy in an exclusive interview and maternity photoshoot with Hello! Canada. The Ottawa native shared the news the same day on Instagram, posting images from a session at Toronto’s Casa Loma.
She has not publicly named the father. In the Hello! interview, Chanté described her relationship status as “unavailable” and said the decision to start a family came from her partner. “I’m very free-spirited, and whatever the universe wants for me, I’ll have,” she said. “But he said he was ready. He set up the play and he nailed it! God bless him.”
Chanté called the father “brilliant and super creative and just constantly doing things that I’m inspired by.” She added that she hopes their son inherits “his mannerisms and his swag.” In her Instagram caption, she wrote that “Mommy & Daddy are so excited to welcome you into the world” and joked that “Dada’s got your studio locked and we expect your album to drop summer 2027.”
The music-industry references, combined with the pair’s long history, quickly fueled online speculation that Drake was involved. Both are Canadian. Drake, 39, has previously described Chanté as his first girlfriend. At his 2022 OVO Fest in Toronto, he introduced her onstage by saying, “This is my first girlfriend I ever had in my life… A real legend, somebody I love with all my heart.”
They dated as teenagers in the Toronto area. Fans have long linked Chanté to the “Kiki” reference in Drake’s 2018 hit “In My Feelings,” though that connection has been debated. The two have remained on friendly terms over the years.
Drake is already a father to son Adonis Graham, born October 11, 2017, with French artist Sophie Brussaux. Adonis turns 9 later this week. Drake publicly acknowledged the child on his 2018 album Scorpion.
Chanté, a former co-host of BET’s 106 & Park and a recording artist known for tracks including “Bad Boy,” has kept the pregnancy private for months, concealing her bump with oversized clothing. She told Hello! the first trimester was difficult and that she lost 14 pounds before feeling better later in the pregnancy.
No further statement has come from Chanté or her representatives regarding the rumors.
