Kitty Hinde Viral Video Debunked: The Truth Behind the “Ugly Boyfriend” and Robbery Claims

A viral video posted on X by the account @Rightanglenews on 5 August 2026 has falsely claimed that blind British content creator Kitty Willow Hinde ended a two-year relationship because her boyfriend was “ugly,” then began dating an immigrant who robbed her days later. The montage combines unrelated clips from Hinde’s TikTok videos and footage from a 2025 ITV programme to create a continuous narrative that is not supported by primary sources. The story is a textbook example of the broader pattern of viral misinformation edits that target disabled and minority creators.

Hinde, who posts as @kittysblind on Kitty Hinde’s TikTok profile (@kittysblind) and Instagram, is a singer, actor and disability activist from Stockport in Greater Manchester. Diagnosed with glaucoma in childhood, she lost the remainder of her vision in May 2023 at age 19. She serves as a Sense Ambassador (per Sense’s official ambassador page for Kitty Hinde), appeared as the lead singer in an Apple Christmas advertisement, and has built a large following with candid videos about life as a blind person.

According to interviews published by the Manchester Evening News interview about meeting Sam and The Mirror’s coverage of her relationship with Sam in 2024, Hinde met sound engineer Sam in a nightclub in May 2023, weeks before she became fully blind. He was publicly supportive. The relationship lasted approximately two to two-and-a-half years and ended in 2024. In a TikTok announcement she said she was heartbroken, still loved him, felt she was not the love of his life, and asked followers to respect his privacy.

In an early August 2026 TikTok, Hinde responded to questions about whether she fears “accidentally dating someone ugly.” She stated that she had done so for nearly two-and-a-half years and only learned after the breakup, when friends described him as “unfortunate looking.” She presented the comment as a late joke and did not say she left the relationship because of appearance.

Separately, in early 2026 Hinde posted a multi-part TikTok series describing a different former partner. She said she had lent him money after he claimed to be in debt, later discovered large unauthorised transfers from her bank account into his, confronted him, and was then blocked and ghosted. She stated he took “thousands and thousands” of pounds and that her blindness limited her ability to monitor the banking app visually. No mainstream news reports or public police statements have confirmed the details beyond her own videos, and the episode falls within the influencer-content verification beat that often requires cross-platform confirmation.

After the split with Sam, Hinde appeared as a contestant on ITV’s Blind Matchmakers, which aired in November 2025. The programme pairs visually impaired contestants with blind matchmakers. According to Glamour UK’s review of Blind Matchmakers, she went on a double date with musicians MOBI1 and YJ, preferred MOBI1—a former aircraft technician who survived facial flash burns—and connected with him over music and shared experiences of trauma. Clips of a man in a blue balaclava or mask that appear in the viral montage are widely understood to originate from this show or related content. There is no evidence that the masked man robbed her, became her boyfriend immediately after Sam, or that any compressed “immigrant robber days later” sequence occurred.

The viral X post stitches together footage of Hinde with Sam, her August 2026 joke about learning of her ex’s looks, the earlier theft story-time videos, and the masked-man clips. It then presents a single causal storyline unsupported by Hinde’s own posts, interviews or reliable reporting. The long-term relationship with Sam and the separate theft allegation involve different men and occurred months apart. The “immigrant” characterisation is not present in her original videos. The narrative construction mirrors a similar viral-claim debunk from earlier this year, where an unrelated creator incident was stitched into a false sequence.

As of 6 August 2026 Hinde continues to post regularly on TikTok and Instagram (see her Kitty Hinde’s verified Instagram account (@kittysblind)). No public statement from her addressing the viral montage has been located. Individual elements of the online narrative are accurate—Hinde is a documented blind creator, she ended a multi-year relationship, friends later commented on her ex’s appearance, and she has described a separate former partner exploiting her blindness to take money—but the sequential “karma” story in the viral video is a misleading edit of unrelated events.
