A bloodied woman burst from a Super 8 motel room in Gloucester City, New Jersey, on October 30, 2025, locked in a physical struggle that spilled into the hallway and staircase. New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport announced the indictment of Tamier R. Brown-Miller, 26 years old and resident of Philadelphia, and Dezeree Smith, 25 years old and Collingswood resident on July 21, 2026. They allegedly ran a trafficking ring from July 2025 until October 2025, with victims being transported in the motels of Cherry Hill, Atlantic City, Gloucester City, and Philadelphia. As per the court documents, the adult victim befriended the two individuals through social media. However, Brown-Miller supposedly threatened to kill her family members unless she started working for him. Late October, 2025, she said she had been stalked by Brown-Miller in the vicinity of the Philadelphia 7-Eleven. He supposedly knocked her out, bound her and put her in his car’s trunk. He then took her to the Holiday Inn, where he kept her confined for two days and forced her to indulge in sexual activities before moving her to Super 8 hotel. She was not allowed to use her phone and advertisements were posted on the Internet about her. As soon as she talked to one of the customers and managed to escape, Smith supposedly beat her up. Four cell phones and some methamphetamine were recovered by the police upon reaching there.
Brown-Miller and Smith face a multi-count indictment. Brown-Miller is charged with 22 counts; Smith with 19. Both are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
