T-Pain Tricks Kai Cenat’s Streamer University Students Into 12-Album Record Deals

T-Pain pulled off a memorable prank at Kai Cenat’s Streamer University on Monday, tricking participants into signing what they believed was a standard attendance sheet — only to reveal it as a mock contract binding them to his Nappy Boy Entertainment label for the first 12 albums of their careers.

The veteran rapper, singer and producer, who is serving as Club Director of Musical Arts for the event, collected the signed sheets before dropping the punchline. “What you didn’t ask for was the cover sheet to the sign-in sheet,” T-Pain said in clips from the session. “Which means we have y’all… all of y’all, most of y’all especially… for the first 12 albums of your career. So I appreciate that shit. Nappy Boy Entertainment welcomes you with open arms.”

He quickly turned the joke into a teachable moment. “Stop signing shit just because people fucking told you to,” T-Pain added, emphasizing the importance of thoroughly reading contracts — a common issue for emerging artists in the music business.

The contract was not legitimate and the entire bit was staged for entertainment and educational purposes. Reactions in the room ranged from laughter to visible shock, with the clip quickly spreading across social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok and X.

Streamer University, Cenat’s large-scale event and stream series for aspiring streamers, content creators and influencers, features workshops, mentorship sessions and appearances by industry figures. T-Pain’s role has included hands-on involvement with music production and artist development components.

The prank aligns with T-Pain’s history of openly discussing the challenges of the music industry. He has frequently shared details of his own early record deal, signed at age 18, which included an unfavorable royalty split that impacted his long-term earnings despite an initial advance.

The moment resonated with viewers online, many of whom praised it as an effective, humorous warning about the importance of due diligence when entering agreements in the creator economy and music business.
