According to reports from TMZ and Page Six, extensive preparations are underway at the iconic New York City arena for a large-scale event scheduled for July 3, 2026. The setup follows a smaller, more intimate gathering expected on July 2, with the main celebration reportedly accommodating up to 1,000 guests or more.
Crews have been unloading giant scenic elements labeled “Garden Party 1 (Scenic)” and marked “GP,” along with large shipments of trees and plants to establish the garden theme. A standout feature is a massive white staircase and bannisters that were craned into the venue, with video of the delivery circulating online. Heavy draping is being installed throughout the arena to create flexible lighting effects, and additional custom set pieces — including what appears to be a large-scale stage — are part of the ambitious production.
The fairytale transformation fits seamlessly with Swift’s artistic history. The singer has long incorporated castle and enchanted motifs into her tours, notably during the Fearless and Speak Now eras, and has performed at MSG numerous times throughout her career. Sources say the “Garden Party” labeling may also nod to Kelce’s garden proposal to Swift in August 2025.
The New York Times earlier confirmed Swift’s multi-day rental of the arena over the July 4 weekend. Street closures are planned around the venue, and a public tent structure has been observed outside. Security is said to be exceptionally tight, with guests required to sign electronic NDAs and watermarked invitations in use. The couple is reportedly covering full costs for the rental, build-out and teardown.
Expected guests include a mix of Swift’s inner circle such as Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Ed Sheeran, the HAIM sisters, and others. Multiple outfit changes for Swift are anticipated, and possible musical performances have been rumored.
