Rashad Murphy Surrenders After SWAT Standoff, Gun to Head Incident

30-year-old Rashad Murphy, a man who allegedly had something to do with the murder of famous rapper Julio Foolio (also known as Charles Jones), was arrested following a SWAT raid and a long, tense standoff in an apartment building in Jacksonville. Police have stated that Murphy was armed, but he eventually gave up after negotiations with the police.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of US Marshals and SWAT teams, cordoned off an apartment located within Collins Preserve in Collins Road after pursuing Murphy based on a case that happened in June 2024. Evacuation of adjacent apartments was made by police personnel while negotiations continued to prevent any use of force.

Hours passed before daylight broke on July 30 into the 31st, during which time Murphy remained within the apartment without leaving. The activity continued nonstop till then.

Murphy walked into custody on his own, officers confirmed. No one got hurt when he showed up no struggle, no chaos. Authorities took him in smoothly, everything calm from start to finish.

A name surfaces in the list of those tied to Julio Foolio’s killing Murphy. The rapper died after gunfire broke out in a Tampa hotel parking area on June 26, 2024. Behind the attack, officials say, lies a pattern of clashes rooted in Jacksonville street groups. What unfolded wasn’t random, according to prosecutors; planning shaped the outcome.

Court documents allege Murphy played a role in the shooting, alongside other suspects identified in the investigation. He now faces charges including first-degree murder and conspiracy.

Footage circulating on social media platforms shows Murphy inside the apartment during the standoff, with captions claiming he was on FaceTime with his girlfriend while holding a gun to his head for an extended period.

Focusing only on facts, authorities avoided the flashy labels spreading across social media when explaining what happened. Instead of drama, they highlighted the weapons involved and how things ended without violence. What unfolded was an intense moment that concluded calmly, according to their account. Online chatter took a different path, but officials stuck to a quieter version of events.

Out there on X, Instagram, Facebook clips flew fast, changing how people saw the arrest almost instantly. Emotion drove a lot of posts, leaning hard on trimmed video clips. Fact and guess mixed together, often without pause. Stories took shape well ahead of any official word, sparking talk on just how quick meaning can stick when details are still foggy.

Foolio’s killing is still under scrutiny, with Murphy’s involvement yet unresolved as investigators gather more proof. Though some progress has been made, court actions against several individuals linked to the event drag on without conclusion.

Right now, authorities say the legal steps continue. Every accused person stays innocent unless a courtroom decides differently.
