Offset’s Mother Calls the Hip-Hop Star a “Walking Miracle”

Hip-hop star Offset is already back on stage, just days after getting shot outside a Florida casino and his mom is calling it nothing short of a miracle.

The rapper who is 34 years old (his birth name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus) was shot in the valet parking area at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, located in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6, 2026. The shooting took place during some sort of fight around 7 pm. He got shot, but he survived. He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he stabilized.

Cops showed up quick, locked the scene down, and held two people right there on the spot. The casino stayed open the whole time no danger to anyone else.

A 28-second split-screen video that’s been going around (posted by @mymixtapez) really hits different. On one side you see Offset’s mom, Latabia Woodward, sitting in her car in a black zip-up jacket and cap. On the other side, there’s footage of her son performing from a wheelchair. She doesn’t usually talk about him much online, but this time she looked straight at the camera and said:

“Six days ago my son was shot. Four days later, he was out the hospital. Last night he was on stage in a wheelchair doing what he loves to do. He is a walking miracle.”

She gave all the credit to “God’s grace and mercy.”

Offset himself posted “REAL LOVE” and “God is Good Thank you” after the show. He also shared a handwritten note that said he was “good…. but I’m planning to be better,” talking about family, getting healthy, and getting back to the music.

He’s been getting wild support from fans who can’t stop talking about his quick return. Yet voices across hip-hop are rising, linking repeated violence to the culture, where digital arguments turn physical, expectations never ease up, dreams come with danger baked in.

Still looking into it, Seminole Police. A scuffle sparked a shooting – rapper Lil Tjay taken in, accused of acting unruly during the chaos. His attorney insists he played no role when guns came out. Held briefly, then let go.

Offset’s estranged wife, Cardi B, hasn’t said anything publicly about it.

This whole situation feels way too familiar in hip-hop. Offset already lost his Migos brother Takeoff to a shooting back in 2022. A lot of artists keep dealing with the same cycle of tension, clout, and real danger. Still, watching him roll out on stage in a wheelchair so soon says a lot about his drive.

Right now Offset is focused on healing and the music. His mom’s emotional words pretty much summed it up fear turning into faith real quick. The investigation is still open, but the hip-hop world is seeing one thing clearly: a survivor who refuses to let anything stop him from doing what he loves.
