Kim Kardashian Reveals $80K Bidding War for O.J. Simpson’s Bible Gifted by Dad

Kim Kardashian is opening up about reclaiming a deeply personal piece of her family history.

On a recent episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, the reality star and entrepreneur revealed that she was the anonymous buyer who won an intense, roughly 12-hour online bidding war to purchase a Bible once owned by her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., and gifted by him to O.J. Simpson. The final price totaled $80,276, including buyer’s premium.

The moment has since gone viral and sparking widespread discussion online.

The Bible — a copy of The Living Bible with Robert Kardashian Sr.’s name embossed in gold on the cover — resurfaced as part of items from Simpson’s estate following his death in April 2024. The book includes a handwritten inscription from Robert, dated June 18, 1994, just one day after Simpson’s arrest and shortly after the infamous white Bronco chase.

Robert Kardashian Sr., who died in 2003, was a close friend of Simpson and served as part of his defense team during the highly publicized 1994–1995 murder trial involving the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Kim said she first learned the Bible was going up for auction after her sister Khloé Kardashian spotted it. Hoping to keep it out of public sale, Kim contacted the estate’s attorney and offered $15,000 to purchase it privately, later saying she would have increased the offer to $30,000. The estate declined, and the Bible was instead listed with Goldin Auctions. Kim also noted that her private outreach was leaked to TMZ, adding to her frustration.

Once the auction went live, Kim decided she had to win it back for her family. To avoid media attention or inflating the price, she bid anonymously through an alias. The auction quickly escalated into a prolonged back-and-forth against one determined mystery bidder.

The Bible ultimately sold on March 29, 2025, for a hammer price of $65,800, with fees bringing the total to just over $80,000. Kim admitted she was surprised by how high the bidding climbed and said she still has no idea who she was competing against.

“If anyone was wondering who won that O.J. Simpson auction,” Kim said on the show, “you best believe it was me.”

In the episode, Kim is later shown sharing the Bible with her daughter Chicago and explaining its sentimental importance. She emphasized that the purchase was not about owning a piece of pop culture history, but about preserving a tangible connection to her father.er family’s history, regardless of the cost.
