Ice Spice and Her 43-Year-Old Mom Stun Fans With Sister-Like Look

Ice Spice’s latest Instagram post has the internet seeing double.

On Aug. 13, the 25-year-old rapper — born Isis Naija Gaston — shared a mirror selfie with her mom, Charina Almanzar, that quickly went viral for all the right reasons. Fans couldn’t get over how much the two resemble each other, with many insisting they looked more like sisters than mother and daughter.

The snapshot came after a big night for Ice Spice: the premiere of her first film, Highest 2 Lowest, a star-studded event attended by Denzel Washington, A$AP Rocky, and Spike Lee. In the photo, the “Munch” rapper is seen rocking her signature sleek red hair, a figure-hugging gray dress and matching boots, while her 43-year-old mom stuns in equally stylish form.

It didn’t take long for the comments to roll in. “Yea that’s the ‘Ice Maker,’” one fan joked, while another wrote, “Mommmm!?? Fountain of youth huh.” Someone else simply put it: “She looks like her sister! Frfr!”

Charina, who is Dominican-American, welcomed Ice Spice when she was just 17 years old, and the pair have always shared a close bond. The small age gap — only 26 years — combined with her mom’s youthful appearance has led to these kinds of mix-ups before.

“My mom’s a bad b—- and she raised me to be just like her,”

Ice Spice told Billboard in a previous interview.

“You already know Latina girls have that sass.” She also recalled being “that kid in the class who had the good-looking mom,” always admiring Charina’s perfectly done nails and impeccable style.

This isn’t the first time Charina has stolen the spotlight. Over the years, she’s gone viral multiple times, earning nicknames like “Old Spice” and sending fans on playful “hunts” for her social media. Her age-defying looks and confident presence have become a recurring talking point in Ice Spice’s fandom.

Beyond the internet buzz, the photo has sparked a bigger conversation about “ageless beauty” and the ways women are embracing self-love at every stage of life. “Age is just a number,” one social media user wrote, praising both women for their confidence and style.

Ice Spice has even said her mom’s look influenced her own — including the early-2000s “Y2K” aesthetic she embraced for her album Y2K!

“Thankfully, I had my mom, so growing up I’d see her really embody the Y2K aesthetic in its truest form,”

She told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

“It’s duck nails, it’s a tramp stamp. It’s brown lip liner, no matter where you go.”
